High Point Junior Program

The Canadian Gelbvieh Association offers a High Point Junior Award. The submission deadline is October 15th of each year. Please submit your point forms etc. to the CGA office before this date. Winners will be notified on or before November 1st so they will have the opportunity to purchase a Gelbvieh animal at one of the five qualified major Gelbvieh sales.

There are two Annual High Point Junior Awards of a $500.00 Gift Certificate towards the purchase of a Gelbvieh animal. One is the Gelbvieh High Point Open Junior (points awarded for participation in Open & Junior shows) and the second is the Gelbvieh High Point 4-H Member.

The two Annual CGA High Point Junior Awards are presented at the Canadian Gelbvieh Association's Annual General Meeting.

The $500 gift certificates can be used towards a purchase at one of the following Canadian Gelbvieh Association approved sales;

  • the Farmfair Gelbvieh Sale in Edmonton, Alberta,
  • the GAA/BC Wish List Sale,
  • the Eastern Canadian Gelbvieh Sale,
  • the Man-Sask Agribition Gelbvieh Sale, in Regina, Saskatchewan,
  • the Man-Sask Fall Classic Sale.
Ownership of the animal must be the Junior, the Junior's Family or a partnership including the Junior, and processed at the CGA office one month before the show where the points are accumulated.

Note: Once a Junior has won either of these awards he or she is not eligible for the same award or the other High Point award.

Points are awarded for 4-H Club & Interclub levels, from a Gelbvieh or Open Junior Show, or from an Open Gelbvieh or Multi-Breed Show. Click here to see how the points are awarded. Don't foget! A Bonus 20 points is awarded for those who are named Supreme Champion over all breeds.

Point collection forms require the signature of the Show Secretary (or a copy of the official show results) as well as the parents & the junior involved.

Please phone the CGA office at 403-250-8640 or send an e-mail to gelbvieh@gelbvieh.ca if you have any questions. Click here to complete the High Point Junior Award Entry Form.
