Canadian National Gelbvieh Junior Show

Each year, Junior Gelbvieh breeders from across Canada are invited to participate in:

  • Individual and team judging
  • Photography competition
  • Stall competition
  • Radio Ad competition
  • Art, literature and short stories
  • Team Marketing competition
  • Public speaking competition
  • Banquet, awards ceremony, and dance

The 2009 Junior Show was held in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, July 15 - 17.

The Challenge Cup
Cow/CalfThis is a team competition held during the National Junior Show. Each team consists of four members, one from each age group, who are required to answer Gelbvieh and beef related questions. The team with the highest number of points earned and rounds won will be declared the winner of the "Challenge Cup".

Look What was New in 2009!
The facility in Weyburn is quite large and the committee thought it would be nice to fill the barn! Anyone who wanted to bring animals and have them on display was welcome. Please check back for results, or contact Chad Nicholas at 306-436-2086 for more information.

Photo Contest
The Photography competition at the National Junior Show is open to all participants. Photos must depict the purebred or commercial Gelbvieh industry and be in colour or black and white. Points are awarded on clarity, quality, originality and relationship to the Gelbvieh industry.
